Launch

Sunday 13th February was the official launch day for Our Australian Girl. The launch was held at Readings Bookshop in Hawthorn, Melbourne. During the week before the launch, we were all very excited making plans! We made a window display using all sorts of bits and pieces from the OAG books - click here to see photos of the display taking shape. Davina made lots of coloured hearts, Jane raided her daughter Lizzie's bedroom for hats and ribbons and jewellery, plus we collected old horse shoes and even visited a shearing shed to find some wool straight off the sheep's back!

We decided it would be fun to serve Australian food at the launch, so we had sausage rolls, Vegemite sandwiches, lamingtons and fairy bread. Lots of people came to the launch and everyone had fun. The four authors were there, and also the four 'cover girls'. The books were officially launched by Brigitte Duclos, who said in her speech that she loved reading the stories with her own daughter, Alex. Click here for photos of the launch day.
